I had a conversation with a friend the other day, and we were talking about many things when she said: Nancy I have a question, do you believe there is an actual Devil???
My Reply was: Oh, yes! but he is completely defeated! Yet he would do anything to keep you from knowing his defeat! Including appearing as an angel of light and pretending to use the voice of God to deceive you; offering you anything he can to use you and take you away from Christ.
ONLY the Holy Spirit in us keeps us totally safe in Christ, and shows us the devils wicked craftiness; and by wicked craftiness I mean his desiring 'good works' as us, and being in the praises of men; idolatry! Satan likes to be worshipped as us. Satan has offered me a man who would understand me, enough money to live comfortably; and the ability to do all the things I'd liked to do.
I would have said yes, because Satan pretended to use the voice of Christ and fool me. To be fooled is to be deceived by that crafty devil. Thank God Christ was in me and The Lord made Satan tell me what the requirements were for such an offer. The devil told me I had to give my life to him! Thank God, I already knew Christ as my life! SO! I told that devil I would gladly live in misery the rest of my life on this earth before I'd ever give-up my life with Christ!
(Let us remember Jesus reminded us that Satan was able to change himself into an angel of light to even deceive the elect of God, and only The Lord keeps us from being deceived.).
Thank God, Jesus is the Progenitor of a NEW RACE of people: i.e. christs! We are walking christs in co-union with God as whole people; spirit, soul, and body. And we are co-intercessors with Christ for others.
In Ezk. 36:26, 27 God says "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I WILL put MY Spirit within you, and CAUSE you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them. This is the NEW man! A born-again man of the Spirit of the Living God. 100% in Christ and 100% Christ in us as us; while all the time being the one Christ created us to be: Nancy!
Being born-again is our personal encounter with the man, Christ Jesus The Lord raised from the dead and by His Spirit He is Living in us, as us. He is not theory, but a Real LIVE Person; in us! The Son of God! We do not live by theory we are whole people saved by the power of God; Jesus Christ! Christ is the power of God, and the Holy Spirit is the power of action in us as us to keep us and Glorify Christ in us. All is of Him.
I think this is the significance of Jesus saying; all sin is forgiven you EXCEPT blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Savoir in us, as Christ as us. He glorifies The Father in the Son, and the Son in The Father, and manifest Father, Son and Holy Spirit for us, as GOD in us! Jesus said, I and the Father will send Him to you. . . He will be another Me.
Now I've said all this, because I am moved to share this with you.
I have been physically attacked at least 4 different times since Satan offered me a man who would understood me, and enough money to live comfortably, and to do all the things I had always wanted to do. One of the times that I was attacked I was actually sent by The Lord to meet someone The Lord told me He wanted me to meet. Once I was there I found that I would stand physically in the place of one whom I had received a commission for, as a co-intercessor with Christ. I was told before hand by the Spirit what to wear and what not to wear, and not to let anything stop me from going where this person was going to be. This wasn't anything strange to me as I was accustom to hearing the Lord speak to me.
A little background. I had been invited to a wedding by my daughter who was singing at the wedding of her dear and close friend. Her friend was of a prominent family in the area, so it was a big affair! I didn't know for sure that I wanted to go even though my daughter had called and reminded me of the time that day. I didn't know for sure that I would be going, UNTIL I hung-up the phone from talking with my daughter. It was then the Lord said to me; "I want you to go and do not let anything stop you. . . there is someone I want you to meet." I proceed to get dressed in what I thought would be appropriate for the occasion when The Lord said to me; "I don't want you to wear that, I want you to wear this." My eyes immediately were directly focus on an all leather outfit; Gauchos Pants and Vest; with a matching full-length Leather Coat. It's significant what the Lord told me to wear and what He told me not to wear that I had previously picked out. It's not necessary to give anymore details of my attire, except with this outfit I always wear high-healed leather boots that went to the knees to meet the Gauchos!
Once I was at the Wedding it was followed by the reception at a different location; and the person God wanted me to meet was at the reception. He was a young man, well built like a wrestler and for "some reason" he was attracted immediately to me and away from my daughter with whom he previously had been dancing. She said he wanted to meet me when she brought him to my table and introduce me. I wasn't impressed! I didn't like him! He hung around until the reception was almost over. Once the reception was over and I left the building, unbeknown to me I was followed by him. I got in my SMALL Toyota and started it, and he came in after me! I told him to get out several times, and when he didn't I shifted into first gear and told him I'd take him with me if he didn't get out! At this point he 'magically' got between me and the steering wheel and began molesting me! He was faster than lighting and I could not get away! He had one arm wrapped around my neck and his hand was close to my mouth. I thought I could bite him, and The Lord said to me; "Don't do that, he'll hurt you!"
So while I was being attacked, and screaming at my attacker to stop it, and to get off of me! The Lord told me what to do. . . and what not to do. The Lord said; put your cigarette in the ashtray and shut off the car while you are opening the driver door; put your foot against the door pushing it open and holding it there, because he is going to try and close the door! . . . (exactly that's what happened). . . Then the Lord said to me use the steering wheel to push yourself out of the car. I did exactly what the Lord said. Once I was out of the car, the attacker came out attached to my back side and proceeded with his attempt to rape me! He was on my back tearing at my clothes! Magically he had his hands all over me even with my heavy leather attire. Believe it or not once I got loose from him, but it was so slippery out I couldn't stand up. It was the 14th of February and the ground was cover with snow and ice; it was about 10 % below zero. I just couldn't stand up though I tried to fight him off my back again. He then throw me over the hood of a car behind mine, and pinned me! I couldn't move an inch! I looked into the heavens at the beautiful clear night with all the beautiful stars glistening in the silence of the night and cried out; My God, for Lord's sakes help me!
Instantly I found myself on the other side of the street; away from this young man who now stood in shock with his hands up in the air like he was surrendering and he was pleading with me; saying he didn't mean to hurt me. I was pointing at him and telling him with all the authority of Almighty God to "get out of here before I get some help!" He panicked and ran to his car quickly, taking off and leaving only his cap on the ground as the only trace of evidence he had ever even been there.
I went to find my daughter! Who was safe inside still with the Wedding Party. No one knew who this young man was or how he got into the wedding reception; he was not an invited guest! Later under police investigation I pursed no charges! In Grace I had received my freedom along with my daughter's, and in The Grace of God he was also set free. I found out later he was about 19 years old; and indeed a wrestler who had problems at home and usually hung out at the Gas Station in that area.
Greater IS He who is in us than he who is in the world. Only Christ knew this boy would be at the reception, and The Lord sent me there to meet him, and kept my daughter safe!
It is my continued desire to be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. . . Philippians 3:9,10.

Q. Explain the term "fixed inner consciousness." Doesn't this have to be experienced on the soul (mind and emotion) level? Is this an experience common only to union-lifers, or was this the basic experience of many deeper-life exponents?
A. Fixed inner consciousness is a condition of spirit, not of soul (reason or emotion). Consciousness is knowing something. "Knowing" in Bible terms means "being mixed with the thing we know." (That is why the word "know" is used when speaking of sexual intercourse in Genesis 4:1, etc.)
Such "knowing' is possible for the human spirit on a human or temporal level. Thus, a competent professional man "knows" his profession and can operate at ease in it. He has a "fixed inner consciousness" of his profession.
But the true knowing (fixed inner consciousness) is a Holy Spirit's knowing, in the same way in which the Trinity—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—know each other in a fixed consciousness. We, the redeemed, enter into this in seed form when "the Spirit bears witness with out spirit that we are the children of God."
Then when we come into an inner knowing of our union with Him "He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit"), confirmed by His inner knowing in us, we come to a more mature form of eternal fixed consciousness. In time we learn to discern between soul and spirit, and no longer confuse emotional disturbances or rational questionings for the stillness of the fixed spirit-knowing (which is really "being"). For "we know" that "we know" that "we know"—which was John's final emphasis in his great first epistle (1 Jn. 5:18-20).
From there we move on to inner knowing in the outer confrontations of life. As we see through to Him in all things, we enter into those knowings of faith that he is certainly doing this or that against all outer appearances. We "call the things that be not as though they are" (Rom. 4:17). This is the "father" form of fixed inner consciousness.
Such "knowing", which is the inner fixed fact of our spirit-being, is called by Jesus, "eternal life" (see John 17:3). This is on another dimension than rational thinking; and is (whether in seed or full-growth form) the realized fact in everyone born of the spirit.

I received a letter from New York while sojourning in Florida which contained the following:
"The report has gone around that you died last week. Of course we know it is not true, but how do these things get started?"
I had to reply to this letter somewhat after the following manner:
"In the language of Mark Twain I must say that the report of my death is greatly exaggerated-and yet somehow or other the same report is true."
The offices of death are many. According to St. Paul, death is one of the most helpful and necessary things that can be performed. He advised the habit of dying daily, and this prefaced the glorious possibility of being born daily also. There is something back of the "idea" death which is replete with substance for meditation.
Death brings with it oblivion-a blotting out, as it were. In reality it can only occur on the plane of changeable manifestation. There is no possibility for death to enter the precincts of the Changeless Life of Spirit.
When you die to anything you are through with it. Just as in the relative sense of the word, when a man dies he is immediately separated from all his possessions; good, bad, or indifferent. His debts are cancelled as far as he is concerned. His estate is disintegrated almost immediately, and no longer is attached to him. Like cloud of dust in a hurricane, his entire affairs are scattered in all directions. When the dust settles, the "place thereof is no more" and the particles have gone into another pattern.
Not understanding Life, the greatest enemy is death. It deprives Life of its manifestation. When Jesus became conscious of Life, he could pass in and out of the shadow called death almost as if passing through a purifying fire. When he arose from what appeared to be physical death, even his disciples did not recognize him until he allowed himself to take on enough of the former beliefs, to which he had died, for them to do so. All along the way to Emmaus, they could not distinguish the man with whom they had been for three years.
....To die daily, as Paul instructs, is to be born daily. It is a letting go of used ideas, and a taking up of new and fresh possibilities, without any "hang overs" or memories or beliefs. "The former things shall pass away; they shall not be remembered nor come into mind any more."
"The Power of Life and Death"-surely this is not the evil power from which the human mind shrinks in terror. It is the redeemed "idea" from which the "sting" has been removed. "Nothing shall be destroyed in all my Holy Mountain." In this day we are reclaiming all the lost enemies and making them into friends.
To tell Jesus of a death was not to upset or startle him. He did not seem to be any more moved than when he heard of a blind man, or a poor man, asking for aid, even though the evidences of the death had gone so far that the greatest imagination of the human mind could not possibly piece the body together again. He went into the tombs and pronounced the "Lazarus come forth" which brought about results.
When the eagle is born or hatched, it means death to a thing or a state of things called "egg"-that much is sure. The former things which were true about the egg are no longer true about the eagle. It is under a different set of beliefs entirely. As an inanimate egg it is acted upon, but with the death of the egg it acts. All the beliefs that were true of the egg fall away for ever.
"Marvel not, ye must be born again"-and in this newprocess it is impossible to carry any of the old estate with you. Many are seeking the new birth, but they do not want to go through death to get it. In other words they want to hold on to old ideas, and at the same time try to express new capacities. It is quite as impossible for a caterpillar to fly as it is for an egg; both must perform the death upon the thing of which they want to be rid, and re-embody themselves with the new idea, before they can attain the expression they are seeking.
When you learn the proper interpretation of the word "death" you will see that it becomes a friend, for it is a cleansing process. It is a letting go completely and ascending to a place where the former things cannot enter in, and have nothing whatsoever to do with the present manifestation. Instead of getting rid of things temporarily, man dies completely to the idea and its manifestation. In the new place he finds himself as incapable of experiencing his former limitations as an eagle flying over the abyss would have in experiencing the cramped quarters of the eggshell from which it evolved.

Paul made an astounding statement when he said that "he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit ". This union of our spirit with the Spirit of God is the fulfillment of Jesus' prayer in John 17, "that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity."
The great secret of living that was given to Paul by special revelation is the fact of "Christ in you, the hope of glory". This was his special emphasis. But what does it mean for Christ to be in us?
Most of us start out by conceiving of God as an old patriarch who lives way off in the skies. Later, when we come into a personal relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ, we learn that instead of living a long distance from us, God lives in us through His Son. Yet we still tend to think of Him as separate from us, even though "in" us.
Paul, however, came to see the glorious truth that for Christ to be in us is for us to be joined as one with Him. There is no separation between us: we have become one spirit, just as He and His Father were one when He walked this earth as Jesus of Nasareth.
Continually Paul spoke of believers as being in Christ. He was referring to this spiritual union. To be "in" Christ is to be joined as one with Him, so that His life is our life.
Using the example of a sponge filled with water to the point that it can absorb nothing else aids me in understanding how two are one. You don't necessarily see the water, but it's there. Yet if the sponge is squeezed, the water appears. The water and the sponge are one, but the one does not dissipate the other. And through our life's experience, as we are "squeezed", the Holy Spirit flows out. From our innermost being, our spirit, come rivers of living water.
An illustration I like even better is to think of our human spirit as jello in powdered form. The Spirit of God is the hot water that is added to the jello to
make it what it is intended to be. The jello is of no real value until the water is joined to it.
The powdered jello absorbs the water to the extent that it becomes so much a part of it that you can't tell one from the other. The water is the "fulfillment" of the jello, enabling it to be what it was meant to be. So too with our union with Christ. It looks like me, but it is really Him; even as the jello looks like jello but is really water expressed as jello.
The flavors of the jello might represent our individuality. Grape is Nancy, peach is Marj, cherry is Jody, orange is Jenny, and strawberry is Mary Ann. We're all the same, and yet we're all different. Many flavors, but the same filling. Each of us is one spirit with the Lord, yet expressed in different ways. And of course we're all in different molds, different bodies, with our
various shapes and sizes and unique characteristics.
When Paul spoke of Christ as being "in" us, he meant that when we live it is really Christ living. For Him to live was Christ! He was simply the particular flavor of jello in which Christ chose to express Himself - Christ in Paul form.
Jesus was a unique expression of the Father. And He prayed that we might be unique expressions of Him! "That they may be one, just as We are one; I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity." His name was Immanuel, "God with us." For Him to live was God; so too for us to live is Christ. He lives as us, expressing Himself through us just as the Father expressed Himself through Him. This is the meaning of "Christ in you, the hope of glory." O
ONENESS
The assertion that God is One, is part of the mystique of numbers. If' God is identical with the number one, He must have qualities in common with this number. There is no such thing as an Absolute One. "One" simply represents a synthesis of conflicting forces. Man is one because he is a synthesis of body, soul and spirit. These again are a synthesis of other entities. An atom is a synthesis of con-flicting elementary particles. The Hebrew language has two expressions ,for the word "One". Absolute unity and composite unity. God is called a Composite Unity - a plural word - `Eloheinu ". We maintain that God is divisible, because number one is divisible - Father, Son and Holy Ghost. All God's children share His divine
Nature. John 10:34, "Ye are gods. " (We are made god, but GOD remains ONE.)
The number one is also capable of being multiplied, but unlike all other numbers, because however much one multiplies it by itself' it always remains one. "One" is the only number whose square root is equal to itself: That is why Jesus, as man, was able to say, "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. "
So we have retained the saying of the early Christians, "Every time you look at a brother you look at God."
God has been called One, because every number is a quantity related to One and so the whole creation is related to God.

T he central secret of all history is the union of the creature and the Creator. Not just the Creator. Certainly not just the creature. But the union. We've found the whole meaning of life in time and eternity when we've found that.
It's probably beyond intelligible apprehension by the finite mind, as well as beyond description. But if our minds cannot completely compass this infinite glory, thank God our hearts can experience it.
And yet, if we think around it, to some extent our minds can compass this great fact of union. We know, for instance, that it is life. That is what eternal life is. There is only one eternal life, that of God. But God is three, dwelling in each other, which is union. So original life is not one person, or still less one thing; it's three living in each other and proceeding out from each other in their several offices.
Original life, then, is union. But not just union: unity. That which proceeds from union, in a balance which is so hard for us to apprehend, is a unity which still leaves us a separate person. There is such a union that there is never again a sense of division between myself and the living God. We've become one person, for "he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit". Not two, but one. And yet within that mystery there is a unity that allows us to retain our individuality. That's where a major difficulty comes.
The Cry of the Ages
The first point that we need to get clearly in mind is the union - that we've become one person. We've got so used to the curse of the fall, which is separation, that it's a very long job for us to fully realize the fact of our union with God. And who of us does entirely attain to a continuous recognition of this union?
The great cry of the hearts of the saints of the ages was union. They expressed it in a certain terminology (which is impressive to some of us), describing the way to union as purgation, illumination, and finally union - three phases which to some extent resemble the little children, young men and fathers of John's first letter. It doesn't exactly correspond, but it's somewhere near.
If you read the lives of saints you always find that when they came to union they experienced liberation. As soon as they grasped union, out came a great humanity, a great love, a great power, a great service. They had found the liberating secret.
It is when a crisis comes to you and me - a sudden sorrow, a sudden disaster - that we realize how separatist we are in our thinking.
The usual thing we say when a crisis hits us is, "God permitted it". That means that God is up there and we are underneath. But God isn't up there at all! He is within. I never lift my eyes one single time to heaven to try to find Him up there, do you? I don't waste my breath, my sight, or anything else. Why should I waste my time trying to get a Person to come down when He lives within me? I can see Him where He is, in a common bit of human flesh redeemed in His precious blood, packed full of the Holy Spirit.
This makes my whole attitude to life different. Once I recognize that God is joined as one with me, I no longer try to find him or get him to come and rescue me.
A Shared Life
A crisis comes to me. No, no - it doesn't! It comes to us. Not to me, to us. And I'm a mighty little part in the us, while He's a mighty big part.
It comes to Him. And if it comes to Him, He doesn't just permit it, He means it to come. Well, if He means it to
is our life'. 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.' We 'have put off the old man with his deeds'.
Herein we encounter a problem. We see what the Bible plainly reveals as factthe death of the 'old man' with his deeds and our resurrection life in Christ as a 'new man'. But we question the reality of this in our own lives because we see too much of what looks like the 'old man' still around. How do we handle this enigma?
We need to remind ourselves of the basic key that reality begins in the realm of the spirit, in heaven, long before it is tangibly manifested in our earthly existence. There is a time-lag while the spiritreality is brought forth in our awareness.
It takes time for the death of the old man to be realized in experience. That is why we are told to 'put off the 'old man, which is corrupt according to the deceit
ful lusts' and to 'mortify the deeds of the body'. The victory has already been won, though not yet manifest.
It requires time 'until Christ be formed' in us, and until 'we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ'. Though the new man is already 'created in righteousness and true holiness', the putting on of the new man in this material world of appearances does not happen overnight.
Yet through the eyes of faith - accepting and confessing what God reveals as already true - we are to see ourselves as God sees us.
The Manifestation
It is not left up to us to bring the manifestation into being. Jesus Christ, as head of the church, has been given the responsibility of bringing everything to
pass in the physical realm that is already
reality in spirit. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. What he has begun will be realized, for he must rule until he has put all enemies under his feet.
Once we understand who we really are, we stop identifying ourselves with the old vestigial remnant of the flesh - the 'old man' of sin. That is no longer who we are. When sin raises its ugly head, we can say with Paul, 'it is no more I that did it, but sin that dwells in me' (Rom. 7.20). The real you is the new you - Christ in you, living as you. This is an eternal FACT, unmistakably, unalterably, and indelibly imprinted in the heavenlies.
All things have already in God's timeless perspective been 'put under Christ's feet', The kingdom of this world has already become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ. This we accept and confess in faith. And this faith absolutely guarantees the manifestation. El

I found once you convince The Lord that you believe on Him; believe His Fact that you are complete in Him; perfect, and cannot be improved upon, and that you are never upbraided for pressing Him with His own truth of Himself in you, as you; -once He is convinced you truly believe what He says of you, no matter what! He comes back with His own inner-Christ-consciousnesses in you, as yours; and this is consummated faith; revealed in you as your HOLY union with Him.

Ole Henrik Skjelstad has a great post on John 11 today - verses I have been drawn back to again and again for the past 7 months. Talking with him I just understood that "I AM the resurrection and the Life." is a wild, dangerous, wonderful, lovely statement Jesus made. That he would for all time enable us to join him in I AM beliefs! and why two words used? don't they mean the same?? Not completely = 'resurrection' means coming back from the dead but 'LIFE' is of the absolute fulness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through him both to the hypostatic "logos" and to Christ in whom the "logos" put on human nature ... life real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed, in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ, but after the resurrection to be consummated by new accessions (among them a more perfect body), and to last for ever! LIVE IT TODAY... be outrageous as Christ who before he laid his life down - took up the proclaimation "I AM" and actually ... YOU ARE!

Every time I read or hear the word 'sin', I have learned to replace it with the word "independence" (me as my god) and suddenly all makes sense. We see Paul fell for the deceit too. The coveting was not the problem but the TRYING not to covet was. (After all, this is what the law reveals: not a specific deed, but the reliance in FLESH= me as my source (god). BUT thank God through our co-resurrection with Jesus, the law of faith has delivered us from the slavery to the realm of appearances to which we were subdued in Adam, so we no longer serve sin.
