Every time I read or hear the word 'sin', I have learned to replace it with the word "independence" (me as my god) and suddenly all makes sense. We see Paul fell for the deceit too. The coveting was not the problem but the TRYING not to covet was. (After all, this is what the law reveals: not a specific deed, but the reliance in FLESH= me as my source (god). BUT thank God through our co-resurrection with Jesus, the law of faith has delivered us from the slavery to the realm of appearances to which we were subdued in Adam, so we no longer serve sin.
